While my dad was busy succumbing to one of his greatest passions - laboring in the earth's soil planting flowers and gardening in his backyard, I was chatting with my mom on the telephone.
So goes the conversation:
Mom: "Your father just walked in from the yard. He is totally black from head to toe."
Me: "Oh that could be fun. You can go live out your fantasy of being with a black man."
Mom: .....silence
Me: (Laughing hysterically) "Believe me, it's pretty amazing."
Mom: "I think I'm gonna hang up now."

That is hillarious! Mom's having an off day today and that so didn't help her...you sure are ballsy.
I gotta say - I'm so glad I had just swallowed that sip of water, or it would have been all over my laptop! Hysterical! I can so imagine you saying that to your Mom, and her not knowing how to respond. I imagine you still surprise her from time to time, even after all these years. Classic!
I was NOT having an off day. But yes my baby daughter is "ballsy" often.But she can get me laughing so hard that I can't talk. And dear Beth, I did know how to respond but was wondering if I wanted Kimber to publish my words to the world.
